Family Services CPS provides families a variety of services to strengthen families so children can stay safe at home with their parents. Outside of the CFRP review, agencies may share reports consistent with their policies and other legal restraints. This allows for the CANRB to read the record prior to the review. Investigations primarily include reports of child fatality, sexual abuse, serious physical abuse, serious neglect and reports of child abuse or neglect involving foster parents and institutions such as schools, residential facilities and child care centers. Timelines can be highly beneficial in narrowing down who had access to the child when the injury occurred. The worker would unsubstantiate the physical abuse code of meth lab and add the neglect code of unsafe/inadequate shelter in order to correctly find POE for neglect. If the courts findings substantiate the Divisions determination of child abuse and/or neglect and proper due notice has occurred, the Divisions finding will be Court Adjudicated. For Investigations, users will receive an error message if this question is left blank or if answered yes and there is no email on the Contact List for the alleged perpetrator.
