In "Keeping It Together", she feared them and called them "Crystal Clods", running from them in shock, and only fought back when tied up. I'm living here! Peridot then asked him if "Stevens" were the dominant species replacing humans before attempting to crush him with a giant fist, only to be stopped by the other Crystal Gems. Greg and Steven are walking with a cardboard cut-out of Greg advertising summer waxing. Often when working, Peridot insisted things be done her way and despised compromising. Peridot is later chased by a Roaming Eye and is given a chance by Lapis, who, after having a talk with Steven, asks if she is okay, which makes Peridot happy to know that she cares, which, in return, makes Lapis blush. Likewise, Peridot was not aware that any Gems remained on Earth, much less the Gems that rebelled against Homeworld, as she was quite shocked to find them still alive. | Part of the reason she started to like Amethyst so much more than the others is that, aside from Steven, she was the only one willing to hang out and joke with her. She refuses to follow Yellow Diamond's orders and insults her for failing to see Earth's potential, making her a traitor to Homeworld and Yellow Diamond. Makes quips about the Crystal Gems betraying Homeworld, even though she was willing to betray Homeworld to save her own life. She has, however, begun to figure out her metal-manipulating powers. When she finally contacts Yellow Diamond and has a perfect chance to rat out the Crystal Gems, she covers up and takes the heat instead. She shows Steven and Amethyst around the renovated barn, entertains them with her "meep morps" and powers and tries to convince Amethyst that she is better than Jasper by showing her the Beta Kindergarten. Peridot is left shaken and exhausted by the stress of defying her; after Peridot hands her Communicator to the Crystal Gems, she curls up into a ball and is unable to help the others when they get rid of the Communicator. Peridot used to feel that a practical and systematic approach is the correct way to do things and has had trouble reconciling this with the Crystal Gems, who make decisions based on their feelings, particularly when they chose to relax despite the imminent danger in "It Could've Been Great". This seems to be due to the lack of knowledge Peridot has of the Earth and Lapis' knowledge of the Crystal Gems and the planet.
