I have a LG top load washing machine. Ruin $1,000s of dollars in sheets towels and bedspreads. LG asked for pictures, receipt of purchase and model number. asks from Mount Laurel, NJ on February 23, 2015 9 answers. I have same rust problem around bleach dispenser. My GE Profile HE washing machine has this problem, too. I emailed them before reaching and reading this. Not only rust issues. Would not recommend LG top load washer with bleach dispenser. We were given the warranty companies information due to having a 4 year warranty and were told from them that they only cover if machine is not operable or leaking. On the left side of the washer where the Bleach Fill/Drain is located, it has rusted completely out to the point that rusted metal pieces are building up around the drum and some getting into the laundry. It seems that my bleach dispenser is OK, but cannot see around it. Shame on LG. Click Change Settings if you want to tailor the use of your cookies. They rust near the bleach cup probably because your not suppose to use bleach in a bleach cup right ??? I have a WT5170HV I purchased in June 2012 that also has this rust issue. We have the same exact problem with our washer too in Sturbridge, MA. I also have this problem. I have the same problem with rust around the lip of the washer. I did a search about this issue and found this page. I paid more than I normally would for the washer and dryer combo, b/c him a 24 hour caretaker for my husband, who suffered a massive stroke years ago, and never fully recovered, so being careful with income is an issue for me. Just fix the problem and own the poor design ( basically use better appliance paint and do what needs to be done to make sure the paint lasts at least as long as the motor!). Do not use bleach due to my sons severe skin condition. Ours is also rusted, less than 5 years old. I would be happy to join a case action.
